Orion's Account

What was your first impression of Armstrong? What were the circumstances?

"I had always thought of Avenger Armstrong as being a hero.  In my mind, he had striven for and achieved the most noble position he could obtain.  He was an example, an icon which every American child looked up to.  In the minds of the American public, he was one of a select number of elite guardians of the public trust.  In our minds he exemplified all that was noble in American society: duty, self-sacrifice, nobility, strength of mind and body.

"I remember when it was announced that Avenger Armstrong had been killed in the line of duty -- the nation wept.  One of her most beloved sons had been killed and they honored him in the same way that they would've honored a war hero or a slain president.  His funeral was televised and the sound of the 21 gun salute still echoes in my mind.

"The first time that I saw Kevin Armstrong in the flesh and realized who he was, was at the Berkeley Stadium.  I was absolutely shocked that he was still alive, but the biggest shock came when I realized that he was leading a group of criminals and terrorist.  My shock turned to absolute rage as I saw the arrogance he exhibited and realized that we had all been betrayed by this treacherous worm of a man."

What was your reaction when you realized that the VF-2 Commander was former Silver Avenger Kevin Armstrong?

"I remember the sick feeling I had my stomach.  If I had not been busy at the time in combat with his henchmen, I am sure I would've thrown up.  How could someone who had been such a symbol for good and had defended law and justice become the very thing in which he had dedicated his life to combat?  I felt that the beating he took from the Golden Avenger could not even start to repay the damage that he had done by his hideous treachery."

How did you react to seeing Kevin Armstrong and Darin Falswell escape from  Stronghold on CNN?

"Absolute and total rage.  Once again he proved to be the oath breaker.  It became clear in my mind that Darin Falswell and he were capable of absolutely anything and had collaborated in the past to destroy people's lives, property and the system in which they had chosen to live.  They had to be stopped."

How did you go about tracking Armstrong down?  When did you see him next?

"The next time I saw Armstrong was in San Francisco during his capture.  As to how we tracked him down, since he is at large now I will withhold comment."

How did you feel when the Serpent Syndicate allegedly captured Moira Rennie Armstrong and Ellen Rennie from PRIMUS?   When did you find out otherwise?

"These people, and I use the term loosely are capable of almost anything.  Armstrong chose to associate with these terrorists and now he was suffering the consequences of their association.  However, I used all the resources at my disposal to help locate his wife and child.  The innocent should not suffer with the guilty.

"Later, I found out that they had actually been spirited away by the Wild Geese.  I have to admit that I was quite impressed that Armstrong was able to call upon the resources of this organization."

What are your plans now that Armstrong is again at large?

"Although I would like to spend the time and track down this traitor I have to be content that the resources the Hudson Hawk's can muster will be enough learn his whereabouts.  I cannot personally look for him due to other pressing concerns. I look forward to the day when we lock Armstrong up and literally throw away the key.  I have faith that our justice system will be able to handle him appropriately, but I do have a small statement to make directly to Mr. Armstrong.  Armstrong, wherever you are, we will find you. And if I am involved in your capture I won't pull any punches this time.  I hope you understand my meaning."
