Background:

The only child of PRIMUS Director General Jonathan Hawkins was born when his father was already in his fifties, and the general remained a distant figure. He never doubted that he'd follow his father's path, however, and when the time came, he too went to West Point, though his grades were unspectacular. While at West Point, he became friends with Darin Falswell, another Army general's son, as well as with Alex Richardson, though he was a year ahead of Hawkins.

After Stephen's graduation, General Hawkins spoke to him about joining PRIMUS and perhaps the Avenger program. Stephen was compatible with the Cyberline process, and was assigned the Hudson City PRIMUS base. Stephen has now been at the HC PRIMUS base for thirteen years, and has a clean record. He deals well with paranormals, and accepts even the worst of crises steadily.

Stephen met Christine Hailley when she was dating Darin Falswell and still in college. Falswell was vehemently anti-paranormal, and when her powers manifested when she underwent the minor Cyberline treatment, the Silver Avenger from New York cut off all contact with her. Stephen remained friendly with her, though, even to the extent of straining his friendship with Falswell. He lobbied his father to pull strings for her to get transferred to Hudson City -- and to the position of his assistant. When Christine's subsequent marriage to a contractor failed, Stephen was the person she turned to. In March of 1996 they were married at Grace Cathedral in Hudson City, and the Golden Avenger served as Stephen's best man. Their first child -- the first child born to any Silver Avenger -- was born in December 1996 (after only 5 months gestation, though David Albert Hawkins was as mature as a 9 month baby).

Both Stephen and Christine are aware of the true nature of the Sentinels, and the realization that PRIMUS has a very corrupt element has disturbed both of them greatly. Stephen attempted to speak to General Hawkins about this, but the elder Hawkins refused to even discuss the issue. Since then, he and his parents have become somewhat estranged, and Stephen now watches very carefully what Colonel Vasquez does.

Personality:

If Maria Chow is the wild Silver Avenger, Stephen Hawkins is the boring Silver Avenger. In fact, the most interesting aspect of Stephen is his wife Christine. Stephen is the Silver Avenger that everyone likes, because he's easy going and patient. Given his wife's hero identity (one of the worst kept secrets in PRIMUS), he is not supportive of anti-paranormal legislation, and has even appeared (unofficially) at demonstrations protesting such.

Appearance:
Stephen is a handsome man in his early thirties, with sandy blond hair and green eyes. He's 6'1 and about 230 lbs. He wears wire-rimmed glasses for reading.
