Background
Cassandra Salvatore is the youngest of four children born to Jocasta and Mikos Papadopolis. She was raised in Brooklyn and her family is strict Greek Orthodox. She received a scholarship to attend U.C. Berkeley. She lived with her Uncle Alexandros "Alex" Papadopolis while attending school. Alex Papadopolis is the owner of the Bacchaus Revels restaurants in San Francisco and is a noted chef. Cassie graduated from U.C. Berkley with a dual degree in dual-degree in museum management and archaeology. She is currently working as an assistant curator for the De Young Museum. Her specialties are Greek and Asian art. She met her husband while she was working the Copen Museum as an intern. Tony Salvatore is a construction contractor and comes from a strict Catholic family. The two families were upset when Cassandra and Tony married. The couple eloped and got married in Las Vegas by an Elvis impersonator. On their honeymoon, Tony gave Cassie an ancient Arabic amulet that he had bought at an art auction earlier that year. The amulet granted Cassie extraordinary powers including the ability to teleport and heal people's injuries. The amulet is magical, but does not work for everyone. Tony tried to use it and it failed. When the couple returned to San Francisco after their honeymoon in Africa, Cassie donned a costume, took the name "Odyssey," and entered San Francisco's superhero ranks. File Update Though PRIMUS reports are still a bit garbled, it appears that Cassie's powers have completely shifted, and she no longer relies on the amulet. The powers she has exhibited since -- and which have been reported by the press -- are water based, and her entire appearance has changed. Rumors of Tony leaving after this change have now been substantiated, and he is currently staying with a friend. Powers and TacticsCassandra is still exploring her powers. She appears to have an affinity for water, and can summon it to her, as well as breathe underwater (through gills). Additional abilities are unknown to PRIMUS at this time. While new to superheroing, Cassie has not panicked at the sight of danger. However, she is not very knowledgeable of battle tactics and has no hand-to-hand combat experience. She prefers to strike from a distance. Personality/ MotivationCassandra has an outgoing personality and truly enjoys trying to help people with her superpowers. She has had very little experience fighting evil and is genuinely shocked by the depths of cruelty and villainy she encounters. She's not naive - just inexperienced. Cassie enjoys pratical jokes - as long as they don't hurt anyone and she can't stand self-pretentious and pompous behavoir. She'd much rather laugh at a situation than get upset. She has a soft spot in her heart for artwork and archaelogical finds. As an assistant curator in a museum she treasures artwork and will defend it from destruction. Quote"Even my dog has better manners than you." Known HauntsCassie can be found working Monday through Friday at the De Young Museum. Occasionally she is there on the weekends as well. She has a home in the East Bay area that she shares with her husband Tony and dog Lobo. She also spends a lot of time at her Uncle Alex's condo and his restaurant, Bacchus Revels. |
