The
Avenger Corps
The
most elite of PRIMUS' soldiers, the Avengers were initially drawn
from the military, but as the times changed, more women and minorities
from civilian life were recruited.
PRIMUS
Avengers maintain a more youthful looking appearance than their
ages would indicate. Avenger Gray (Los Angeles) served in Vietnam,
yet he looks no older than thirty.
Golden
Avenger DJ (Daniel James) Johnson joined PRIMUS in 1984,
directly out of the Navy. Originally the Silver Avenger for
San Francisco, Johnson made national news when, in 1992, his
fiancée was murdered and he single-handedly tracked
down those responsible -- implicating federal agents in a
large drug trafficking ring in the process. Johnson remains
single and divides his time between his apartment in Washington
and the home he continues to own in San Francisco.
Now
40, Johnson is 6', 200 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.
He has a quiet, commanding voice, which he rarely raises.
He will squint when he becomes angry or frustrated. [Writeup

Atlanta:
Frank Hartigan Frank is 5'11 and weighs 200 pounds. He has brown,
curly hair and hazel eyes. A native Bostonian, Frank has been posted
in Atlanta since 1984, and has adopted an easy attitude. Other Avengers
tease him about his "accent," half Boston, half Southern gentleman.

Boston:
Melanie ("Mel") Flannagan
Female Silver Avengers have always felt that they've had to
work twice as hard. Mel is exceptionally beautiful, and she's had
to work even harder to gain respect. She's 5'9, weighs 130 pounds,
and has long auburn hair and blue eyes.
Chicago:
Ernie Freeman Ernie is a family man, although a quirk
of the Avenger program has meant that Avengers are unable
to have children. He and his wife Terisa, a prosecutor in
Chicago, have several adopted children -- and now one of their
own on the way, since PRIMUS was forced to admit Avengers
were *not* sterile. Few
people in PRIMUS know that Terisa is the heroine Vortex, and
that in her secret ID she lobbies for paranormal rights --
with her husband's full support.
Ernie
is an African-American male who appears to be in his late
twenties, though he is closer to 40, 6'0 and 195 pounds.

Fort
Worth: Robert Webster Robert
is the practical joker of the Avengers. He managed to hit the Golden
Avenger in the head with a piece of ice during Stephen Hawkins'
wedding reception (though the favor was returned later in the evening!)
Robert is 6'3, 230 pounds, with short blond hair and icy eyes. He's
handsome and a serious ladies' man.
Houston:
David Frasier David is known as "the quiet one" in the
Avengers, and he's actually quite shy in large public gatherings.
He manages to deal with the spotlight whenever it's thrust
on him, though he remains the antithesis of fellow Texan Avenger
Robert Webster, who is extremely extroverted. David's cases
primarily involve combating paranormals involved in drug and
immigrant smuggling operations.
In
1999, he married the Houston base physician, Simone Donovan,
in an October wedding, and he and his wife are now expecting
their first child. David has brown hair and eyes, and is 6'1
with a thin build.

Hudson
City: Stephen Hawkins The
son of General Hawkins, Stephen joined the Avengers soon after graduation
, with his father's full approval. His assignment to Hudson City
was due to merit, though, not nepotism. He's 6'1 with blond hair
and green eyes, and often wears wire-rimmed eyeglasses. He married
Christine Hailley in an Episcopal ceremony in 1996, an event that
all the Avengers turned out for and which led to almost riotous
partying. They now have two children.
Los
Angeles: Joseph Gray Joseph, like many of the Silver Avengers,
came from a strong military tradition. He's also the oldest Silver
Avenger, though he looks like he's thirty. Joseph is 6'0 and heavily
built. He plays war games in his spare time.
Miami:
Barbara King Barbara was placed in Lyndon Kaufman's base. Barbara
often deals with paranormal drug trafficking, and is a vocal supporter
of the measure which would extend PRIMUS' jurisdiction. She's tall
and thin, about 5'10 and weighing 128 pounds. She has dark blond
hair which is pulled back in a ponytail.
New
Orleans: Peter St. Croix Ranks with Robert Webster as a lady's
man. Both men carouse together. Peter is 5'10, thin, with dark hair
and eyes. He's actually from Oregon, but he fakes a Louisiana accent
when he meets people who don't know him.
New
York City: Anna Martinez
Anna became Avenger following the defection of Avenger Darin
Falswell in 1995, though she was not eager to accept the post.
Anna was just twenty-five at the time, a newly minted Assault
Agent who had distinguished herself in combat few times. What
most people don't know is that she was handpicked by Vasquez,
because he believed she would be willing to work with him.
Over the past few years, he has manipulated her in a number
of circumstances, but she's gotten wise to his game and has
begun to fight back.
Anna
is currently dating a New York-based FBI agent, whom she met
on the job. She's 5'6, with brown hair and eyes and speaks
with a faint Puerto Rican accent.

Philadelphia:
Eric Harper The second of PRIMUS' two African-American Silver
Avengers, Harper was selected for the post after one of the original
Silver Avengers developed an allergy to Cyberline treatment. Harper
is 6'2 and 210 pounds.
Phoenix: William Baker William is 6'1 and 225 pounds with
black hair and brown eyes. Married last year, he and his wife made
headlines when they adopted two Bosnian orphans.
San
Francisco: Maria Chow Maria calls herself "The PC SA." Her office
is a collection of knickknacks and is something of a PRIMUS running
joke. She is an amazing workaholic, though she's known more for
her flamboyant relationships with celebrities -- actors, musicians,
paranormals -- than for her diligent efforts to keep San Francisco
safe. Recently, she has taken Avenger Martinez under her wing in
an effort to wise the poor girl up -- Maria is flatly amazed anyone
could grow up in NYC and be so incredibly naive.
She's
tiny, about 5'3 and 105 pounds, with long black hair and brown,
almond-shaped eyes. [Writeup in PRIMUS Sourcebook]
Seattle:
Richard Stephens Richard
is 6'0 and heavily built. He has black hair and brown eyes and freckles
across his nose which make him look like a young man, though he's
in his late thirties. A Marine prior to entering PRIMUS, Richard's
base is very well run, and has recovered well since the bombing.
St.
Louis: Alex Richardson Alex coordinates much of the Avenger
Games material, and is an excellent tactician. He's also a
chess Grandmaster, and there is currently a $367 pot for the
PRIMUS agent who can beat him in a game with no handicaps.
Alex is also a judo expert. He strongly dislikes paranormals
-- the hero and villain variety -- and has been reprimanded
on several occasions for brutality in combat. Most villains,
when facing him for a second time, will surrender rather than
fight. His tactical skills are unparalleled in PRIMUS.
Alex
dates but seldom, but when he does, his girlfriends tend to
be beautiful but on the lower end of the IQ scale. He drives
a BMW roadster and is seen jogging every morning in his upscale
suburban neighborhood. He's 6'4, with blond hair and brown
eyes. [Writeup in PRIMUS Sourcebook]

Washington
D.C.: Sherri Peters Sherri,
5'8 and thin with short brown hair and hazel eyes, was one
of the first female assault agents. Promoted often, when Armstrong
defected in 1991, Sherri was selected to undergo treatment.
She gets along well with DJ, though she's been rumored to
call him "Sweet Pea" behind his back (the Golden Avenger's
office designation in Washington is Suite P.)
Sherri
and her husband have just welcomed their second child, and
she has just succeeded in convincing Colonel Glenn that the
Jonathan Hawkins building should provide child care for PRIMUS
agents and support staff.
