About this site

The PRIMUS website started as a joke in early 1996, when, while running a game, my players and I began to hypothesize who would appear on the PRIMUS Ten Most Wanted page, if the organization really existed and if it had a website. The site became reality a few weeks later (a very cheesy rip-off of the FBI's site, complete with a link to the DoJ) and has continued to this day.

I have had a lot of help with the site from a number of people. Jennifer Whitehair, Dale McKee and Logan Darklighter have contributed artwork. Mark Kobrak, Rob Hudson and others have contributed characters and equipment. And too many people to list have sent me feedback and suggestions. Oh, and let's not forget Supervillain Taunts!

In 1998, I became official when Hero Games published my PRIMUS Sourcebook, an updated version of the agency, which you can order from them online for the modest sum of $10. If you'd like to take a look at the playtest materials, which I made available to the public a few months before the book was released, you can download them free from me. The download includes my updated Brownie Point system.

I'm prepping to run a PRIMUS FTF game and as a result, I've started to update the site and materials for the first time in three years. Bear with me as the site changes! No longer an alpha version of the PRIMUS Sourcebook, the site is evolving into extras and supplements. God knows I didn't stop thinking about PRIMUS or coming up with PRIMUS ideas the day the manuscript went in.

If you have any questions or comments or insults to hurl in my general direction, you can write me at champions@mactyre.net. If you want to know who the heck I am, visit my homepage! Over the years I have gotten some very interesting email -- some of it addressed to the Golden Avenger, some of it to Colonel Glenn, and some of it to plain old Shelley Mactyre. My all time favorite has to be a 1996 message which accused me of running a militia group.
